Help help an Orphanage
On 27 November 2008 (US Thanksgiving Day) I will be paying my second visit a small orphanage mission center in Thailand.  The MERCY Center.  Part of the mission is to bring over a complete Thanksgiving dinner for the kids from the US, including two whole turkeys.
It is shelter currently housing about 25 children ranging in age from 18 months to early teens. In addition to caring for orphan and "at risk" children the mission provides basic food, milk and clothes as well as medical care for a number of children in the slum. Beyond that, the mission helps with simple scholarships sponsored by donors and single parent support.
Like my last trip on 03 September 2008 the goal is to raise as much money as I can and personally go to the markets and buy the food and other supplies needed.
Last time $1100 was raised and it fill up a pickup truck with food, diapers and other essential supply one and a half times.
Read the trip report for the previous trip here: Orphan Kids - Report 3-4 September 2008.
If you are interested in supporting this effort with me, I will be collecting money for the mission and I will personally match every dollar donated, up to $300.  In the case of this mission even a small donation of just a few dollars can make a difference. Please refer to the end of this message for details in how to donate.
This orphanage is not looking for cash donations and much prefer food, milk, diapers and other goods.  I will personally go to the local market and buy the food.  Fresh fruit is the best treat you can bring, so that obviously will be on the shopping list too.
Remember, all donations through me will be in form of food, milk, etc. that I will purchase and deliver, so 100% of funds collected goes to the children.
When I return home from the trip I will write a report detailing my visit and share it with you on this site - just like last time.
I believe that some genuine feedback is the least you can expect from your contribution.
If you like to contribute I will be most grateful to accept it and forward your kindness to the children.
Obviously the purpose of this mission is to collect as much money as possible for the children who need your help so much, however, the spirit is that every little bit counts.
Collectively we can make a big difference.
How do I submit a contribution?

One last time, I am not looking for large contributions, but rather a large number of small contributions. The mission is not to solve the worlds problems, but simply to take a little gratitude and pride in helping this small mission,
When was the last time you got a thrill out of spending just a couple of bucks?
